Kids for Fame: Nine aspiring kid artistes qualify

Contestants who qualified the first audition of ‘Kids for Fame’ along with judges at Hiyo Café on Saturday afternoon.

Nine aspiring kid artistes have qualified in the first audition of 3rd season of ‘Kids for Fame’, held here at Hiyo Café on Saturday afternoon.
The contestants who have passed the audition are Kathaungam (14 years), Fable S Ao (14), Nchumthung Mozhui (15), Myanthung (17), Gifty Shitiri (15), Imsubenla (15), Meyinaro Chankija (14), Atokili (15) and Losin (15).
According to the three judges of the audition – Kashito Kiba of Pheto Music Association, first Naga Idol Moanungsang and Nagaland Chamber Choir member Jethro Merry – some of contestants showed real vocal talent and if groomed properly, could become singing sensations.
The judges were especially impressed with the melodious voice Meyinaro Chankija, a student of Don Bosco HSS, Dimapur, and Fable A Ao.
Auditions for Kohima and Mokokchung will be held on July 18 and 20 respectively. It may be mentioned the ultimate winner of ‘Kids for Fame’, a vocal talent hunt for children between 13-17 years, will receive Rs. 2 lakh cash and one year educational scholarship.
The contest, organized by Pheto Music Association is held every two years.
