Kikrusetuo Sekhose wins Kohima District Tennis Championship

Kikrusetuo Sekhose defeated Lhokishe Awomi 6-2, 6-0 in the final match to win the men’s singles title at the Kohima District Tennis Championship which concluded here Saturday at Indoor Tennis Court, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.


The championship was organized by Kohima District Tennis Association (KDTA).


In  the doubles event, Kikrusetuo Sekhose and Neiketou Yhome overpowered Ketouneituo Solo and Thejasevor Sekhose by 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 to clinch champion title.


The KDTA expressed happiness over the introduction of State Tennis championship and further informed that Kohima team will join the forthcoming 30th All Nagaland Tennis Championship scheduled for October 9 – 12 at Chavino Memorial Tennis Complex, Dimapur.


KDTA is led by Cassius Solo as president, Thejasevor Sekhose as general secretary, Neiketou Yhome as treasurer and Ketouneituo Solo as information & publicity secretary.


Meanwhile, KDTA is organizing a coaching camp for all age groups with Gugu Sekhose as the coach.


The coaching came will be held from Tuesday till Saturday every week (morning session and afternoon session).


The association stated that the coaching camp will focus on grassroots level in order to create a niche for the upcoming youngsters.
