“Where there is a Christian, there should be peace; and in a Christian State like ours, a Christian killing another Christian has become the greatest set-back in a civilized society. This should continue no more”, said Thenucho, Home Minister.
He was speaking on the occasion of the 17th Foundation Day and inauguration of the Chapel-cum-Library Building of the Baptist Theological College here at T Chikri, Pfutsero as the Chief Guest. Exhorting the students who had decided to dedicate their lives for humanity through Jesus Christ, Thenucho urged them to retrospect the future so as to build a better future.
He also urged the students to be determined in their career and even gracefully went up to the extent of saying that he is prepared to sponsor any student for higher academic career in every stream.
The Home Minister also appealed to the staffs/lecturers to work hard despite their pittance and be good role models so that the students are educated to handle the immoralities and vices prevailing in our society. Thenucho when told that the institution is falling short of English and Hindi Lecturers, committed to sponsor for the vacant posts.
The meeting was attended by Sochopra, DC, Shevoyi SP, Phek, Kuko Mero SDO (C) Chizami, Thepuzhoyi SDPO, Pfutsero, Public Leaders, Church Workers and host of Christian activists. It may be mentioned that there are 70 (seventy) students at present from different tribes representing the whole of North East.
