Noklak, January 17 (MExN): The Kingjung Chai Kao (Clan) Khaotsaosei Hok-Ah Festival was celebrated at Chai Pokam under Thonoknyu sub-division, Noklak with MLA, Benei M Lamthiu as the chief guest on January 16.
A DIPR report stated that speaking on the occasion, Lamthiue extending his Khaotsaosei Hok-Ah greetings to the people and appreciated the SDO (C) Thonoknyu, Tsatsutsie, Major Johan of the 12th Assam Rifles Choklangan, VG Jamatar Wui Village Tsuthong, officials and others for attending and witnessing the celebration.
He said that the festival was mainly about merry making and also to showcase the rich cultural traditions and inheritance. He also called on the guests to take back fond memories and spread the message that the Nagas are peace-loving people. Through the festival, Lamthiu also hoped that it would further improved friendship and unity among the villages. He urged the citizens of Kingjung village to be more responsible in building the society by maintaining good relationship with all communities.
Significance of the festival was delivered by Pukhong and a special song by M Pukei. Short speeches were delivered by M Thangou public leader, Shep Kao Convenor, Lam Kao Convenor, Chai Kao Convenor. Welcome address was delivered by S Lusang, while vote of thanks was presented by Hd/GB and Acting Chairman Kaisang. The programme was chaired by Pungom. Cultural song and dance was presented by Lam Kao and Shep Kao.
