The District Administration, DPDB and civil societies on Thursday evening bade farewell to the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kiphire A. Chumremo Odyuo at the Conference Hall of the DPDB Kiphire today.
Speaking at the farewell programme, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner stated that he started his career as an administrator from Kiphire district 27 years ago, making the district dear to him.
Despite being transferred for the 19th time during his time as a government servant, the outgoing DC did not sound disheartened. Instead, he advised the officers present to be dedicated and sincere as transfer and posting are unavoidable as government servants.
Although transferred and assigned to a new department, Kiphire district will always be remembered and held close, Odyuo stated, a touch nostalgic.
Expressing gratitude to the people for their co-operation, Odyuo stated that the team of efficient officers working under him had made his one year and eight month stay as DC Kiphire “very memorable”. He appealed to the members to give the same co-operation and support to the new incoming DC for the smooth functioning of the district.
Benjamin Longkap SDO (C), who spoke on behalf of the district administration, lauded the outgoing DC for leaving behind a good footprint. The SDO (C) mentioned the successful conduct of various national and state programmes during Odyuo’s tenure and also assured him that they would carry out their responsibilities.
ADC Pungro Wennyei Konyak, DPO Planning Pudusul Lohe, representative from USLP, President GBs union, District Hd Db also spoke on the occasion.
