Kiphire, cataract free district excluding present patients

April 5 | Kiphire : A three day free cataract eye camp organized by the District Health Society Kiphire at the Civil Hospital Kiphire, is underway today with CMO Kiphire exhorting the patients and expressing gratitude to the visiting officers and eye surgeon at the civil hospital Kiphire.
Speaking at the program the CMO said, ‘The district is cataract free now, with the consecutive three free eye camps conducted so far by the IOL (NPCB)’. He also said, ‘In Kiphire district when there is eye camp, patients come forward willingly which is encouraging’. He also added, ophthalmologist is send to all the villages in the district and cataract patients have been surveyed and as of now apart from the present patients there is no operable patient cataract patient in the district which makes the district cataract free.  
He also added, ‘We can somehow live without the sense of hearing but it is sad to live without sense of sight and we cannot enjoy the beauty of the world so this is very important, he added. Quoting the scripture the CMO said, ‘Even during the time of Jesus blind people are deprived most in the district and said, we should all work to eradicate cataract in the district even in the days ahead. He also expressed gratitude to the visiting officer and the surgeon for coming thus far having heavy heart of the people in the district.
Pastor Tenmiya Baptist Church Kiphire encourage the patients to have faith in oneself, so that the work of the doctors and the faith in oneself will make ones well, he also invoke God blessing and the operation started thereafter. Ten cataract patients are to be operated in this three days camp.
