Kiphire civil orgs appeal for retention of SDO (C)

KIPHIRE, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): Several civil society organizations from Kiphire have appealed to the Nagaland State Governor for the retention of the present SDO (C), Longtba Sangtam, who was transferred from Kiphire in the recent major administrative rejig by the state government.  

The appeal letter was addressed to the Chief Secretary, Nagaland and appended by the Hd GB, Kiphire; President, Kiphire GBs Union; President, Kiphire Area Students Union; President, Eleven Ward Union Kiphire Town; Chairman, Kiphire Town Chamber of Commerce; and the Citizens Welfare Society  

The SDO in question was to be transferred within four months, as per the government order dated October 26.  

The organizations said that this would be “unwelcoming for Kiphire district,” and added that Kiphire was declared as an ‘aspirational district’ along with 115 districts of India and all district works are in process under the present SDO (C).  

“At a time when works are under process random transfer now and then shall jeopardize the entire system with a fear of loss of confidence. Moreover acute shortage of administrative officers are affecting the pace progress of overall development activates,” they added.
