DIMAPUR, APRIL 12 (MExN): The Kiphire District Congress Committee (KDCC) today said that after proper enquiry and verification it had found out that fund under industrial development to purchase a Truck and a Mini Bus under Local Area Development Fund/Scheme (LADF) 2005-06 for Kiphire Town (the part payment of 50% already having been released) had been misused by an NPF MLA in collaboration with the then Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire.
Knowingly, the then Deputy Commissioner had made payment to MLA without procuring in favour of the contractor or supplier amounting to Rs 11.50 lakhs, a release said.
The KDCC has demanded a clarification on how the money against the projects had been released.
It has requested the authority concerned to ascertain the facts and book the culprits as per the law of the land and “unless action is taken the undersigned leaders will knock at the door of the Court to teach the Law Maker (Legislature) who is representing and enjoying the funds meant for the under-privileged people/class (backward) in the state.”
