The 26th National Road Safety Week organised by the District Executive Force in Kiphire culminated with marathon race on April 30. Hundreds of citizens, well-wishers, officers and students participated in the race.
Speaking at a brief programme before the marathon, Imnalensa (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Kiphire shared on the importance of sensitizing and educating the people on road safety to avoid road accidents. K. Ramnikhant (IAS), ADC flagged off the marathon race.
In men’s category, Thsapongkyu of Hurong village was the winner followed by Khuroli of Kisetong village and Bendangtoshi of 14 IR as the first and second runners up respectively. In women’s category, Serola of Changchore village emerged winner, while Azila of Sangsomong village and Avili of Natsami village were the first and second runners up respectively. There were four consolation prizes in both categories. The winners walked away with certificate and cash prizes.
