KIPHIRE, APRIL 7 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority, Kiphire has discussed and deliberated on monsoon preparedness during its meeting held on April 5 at the DC's conference hall. The meeting was chaired by Temsuwati Longkumer DC & Chairman DDMA Kiphire, stated a DIPR report. In the meeting, National Highway , R&B have been directed to ensure clearance of town roads including the roads leading towards the villages before heavy monsoon rain set in, for safety of public , and as well for convenience of transportation during the upcoming Election.
Other stakeholder departments have also been directed to stay prepared. Petrol pump owner has been informed to keep the oil stocks ready for emergencies, while Kiphire Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTCCI) has been directed for availability of food stock.
Fire and Emergencies, Medical, IR battalion including other stakeholders and departments have been directed to stay prepared in their respective tasks.
During the discussion, the members also decided to organise a mass social work in the town areas to clear the water stagnated areas, and drainages blocked by waste deposits in the town for preventing landslides and safety of the public.
