Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Pungro Hq with NLA Dy Speaker and Kiphire DPDB chairman, T Yangseo Sangtam on June 7.
Approving various agendas put forward, the MLA appreciated the gathering and civil societies for having close coordination with each other for the progress and development of the district. Yangseo acknowledged the officers for extending help and assistance towards the people of Kiphire in implementing various developmental projects and schemes for the benefit of the citizens of Kiphire.
During the meeting, Er Akokba, PHED highlighted department activities for connecting every household with drinking water pipe in the district.
Other agendas including proposal for construction of food processing at Seyochung, creation of primary health centre at Jenty, sanction of fund for repair and renovation of district house and Bharat Scout and Guide at Nerhema, proposal for functional drinking water in government school, upgradation of GMS to GHS Station B Kiphire, and approval of LADP scheme were approved by the house.
Earlier, taking part in a tree plantation drive, Yangseo stated that NLA has passed resolution not to accept wild animals as gift so as to preserve flora and fauna. Sharing concern on ecological imbalance, he said, “logging should be banned otherwise it will make the forest barren” and asked the gathering to spread the message of planting trees wherever possible.
