Kiphire, May 16 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board on May 15 felicitated the district topper of the HSLC Examination 2026 while taking up key developmental and administrative proposals during its monthly meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall in Kiphire.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the board Temsuwati Longkumer, saw district topper Lidila S Sangtam of Agape Higher Secondary School being honoured with a cash award and certificate in recognition of her academic achievement. The board also discussed proposals relating to educational assistance, village nomenclature correction, and preparations for the upcoming National IEC Campaign in the aspirational district.
According to a DIPR report, EAC Kiphire Takatemjen Pongen highlighted the performance of students from Kiphire district in the HSLC Examination 2026 before conducting the felicitation ceremony on behalf of the board.
The board later discussed a proposal for grant-in-aid to B C Olive School, which was forwarded to the concerned department for further action. A proposal for correction of the village name from “Pungren” to “Pongren” was also deliberated and forwarded to the government for necessary implementation.
On the upcoming National IEC Campaign in Aspirational Districts, the house was informed that the campaign would be conducted from May 18 to 25, involving multiple line departments grouped into five clusters for coordinated implementation under the supervision of the District Information Officer.
ADC Kiphire Longdiba L Sangtam also informed the house about a mass social work drive scheduled across government offices, private institutions, and public areas, while urging compliance with safe solid waste disposal measures.
As per the State DIPR, the meeting also featured departmental presentations by the District Industries Centre and the Social Welfare Department. The Chair also directed the District Sports Officer and the Education Department to present their departmental activities during the next meeting.
