Kiphire: DPDB members cautioned against absenteeism from meeting

Kiphire, November 6 (MExN): The Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was convened at the DC conference hall, Kiphire on November 6. 

Chairing the meeting, DC Kiphire John Tsulise Sangtam reminded the officers about their responsibility to attend DPDB meetings, a DIPR report stated. The DC Kiphire cautioned that repeated absences would be reported to the higher authorities.

However, he mentioned that cases of officials on official trips or attending meetings outside the district or those with health issues should inform the Board in advance. He also urged Heads of Offices to delegate competent representatives in case they are unable to attend.

During the meeting, the DIPR report stated that the formation of verification committees for 59 Sitimi-Seyochung Assembly Constituency and 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2023-24 was discussed. The following members were inducted for the respective constituencies after obtaining members' approval. For 59 Sitimi-Seyochung AC, ADC Seyochung was designated as Convenor, with SDO (PWD) and DHO Kiphire as members. For 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC, ADC Pungro was appointed as Convenor, with SDO PWD and BDO Kiphire as members.

While reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the Kiphire Officers’ Club requested that all heads of offices pay the registration fee of Rs 2000 and an annual membership fee of Rs 1000 as decided in the last meeting.

The meeting featured a presentation by the H&FW Department concerning their efforts to combat illnesses such as eye conjunctivitis and dengue disease. DC Kiphire suggested that the department should organize further awareness programs in Kiphire town for the safety of the public. Additionally, the District Soil and Water Conservation Office staff from Kiphire delivered a PowerPoint presentation.

The DPDB members decided to hold the next meeting as a 'DPDB cum Picnic' outside Kiphire town.
