Kiphire | May 13 : The monthly meeting of the Kiphire DPDB was held today at the official chamber of the Deputy Commissioner with the outgoing chairman Kipili Sangtam, MLA & chairman NSMDC and the newly appointed chairman T. Torechu, Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD with other head of department officers, Hohos and the civil societies.
Addressing the DPDB meeting, the newly appointed chairman T. Torechu said, “Rich dialect in the district is a problem for many officers for the smooth functioning of the official work as many people come with different grievances. However, he asked the officers present to endure the hardship and work for the betterment of the district. He also called upon the officers and the gathering to make the people of the district feel that Nagas are one by way of working for the people in the district in various capacities they can.
Appreciating the officers for their tireless effort they have rendered to uplift the district in the couple of years to be at par with the rest of the state the chairman said that ‘distance is the problem’ however, he encouraged the officers not to feel discouraged but to take it as a challenge to serve in the places like Kiphire. Bringing hopes to the people and the gathering he also said, ‘Water problem in Kiphire will be solved in few years time as bigger pipe will be installed for the district in a year time’. He also added, ‘we should work collectively for the progress of the district but if we work alone problem will still be there and asked the gathering to put heads together for the district for new hope, new world, and new thinking.’ Taking part in discussion he also stated to list out the strength of the teachers and sent it to the directorate so that redeployment can be done there’.
Earlier, the outgoing chairman Kipili MLA & Chairman NSMDC expressed gratitude to the DPDB Members for rendering help during his tenure and said, he expect the same to the new chairman too and assure that he will render his service for the district whenever required. He also briefed the house about his Europe tour and encouraged the members to learn from European countries.
Vice Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Accord warm welcome to the house and reviewed the last meeting. The house approved Border Area Grant Fund and also recommend grant in aid to three schools. The department of IT gave a presentation and road map of the IT department for the district. The meeting was followed by lunch.
