Kiphire Electrical Division gets office building

Inauguration programme of office building of Electrical Division, Kiphire was held at Kiphire town on November 24 with Advisor Power, Tovihoto Ayemi as guest of honour and Minister, Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, NSMDC Ltd, V Kashiho Sangtam as the special guest.

The Advisor in his address said, “government is giving due emphasis on basic amenities like transportation, healthcare, road, water and power etc” and added, “Kiphire is not left behind in any of these aspects.”

Advisor in his speech urged the public to cooperate with the Government and appealed to the officers and staffs of Power Department to be more sincere and efficient in their duties. “Inspite of having a big and beautiful building in the District if the staff are not regular in their duty, it will not benefit the Government as well as the public,” he called upon them to be more dedicated.

Stating that the department needs co-operation and support, he asked “the stakeholders to pay bills on time so that the department serves the people better.”

He also said that five villages in the district are yet to be electrified since “these villages are not under census that is why they are left out but the department is also taking up this matter to address the issue.”

Minister, Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, NSMDC Ltd, V Kashiho Sangtam in his speech urged upon all the GBs and civil societies to cooperate with the Government for the development of the Kiphire even in days to come. He mentioned whatever funds are coming for the aspiration should be properly utilise for the development of Kiphire District. The Minister also appealed to the department to create subdivision power at Seyochung headquarter.

Er Shikato Sema, Engineer-in charge (Power) in his speech urged all the officers and staffs of the division to be regular and be available in the office and serve the public to the best extend possible as the building is primarily constructed for public service.

He requested the public to cooperate with the department, especially when drawing transmission and distribution lines, sub-stations etc so as to serve them better.

He also informed that the department created full-fledged Executive Engineer in three districts in 2015 and Kiphire district is the first to get new building.

Ajit Ranjan IAS, DC Kiphire also spoke on the occasion. The programme was chaired by Er Moa Aier Chief Engineer (D&R) Department of Power, Nagaland, Anthony Dzuvichu gave technical report and vote of thanks was delivered by Er Khriechusa More (E) Electrical Division Kiphire.

The team also inspected the 132/66/33kv Kiphire Substation and noted the apparent conditions of the infrastructures which need urgent attention such as approach road and security fencing.
