Kiphire prepares for Union Finance Minister’s visit

KIPHIRE, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): In connection with the proposed visit of the Union Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman, a meeting was held at DC's conference hall, Kiphire on December 3, comprising Heads of Offices (HoDs) and NGO leaders. During the meeting, the DC informed that the Finance Minister’s visit would focus on credit outreach programmes that include SHG entrepreneurs in skilled works. In this connection, he informed all the Agri and Allied departments to prepare PowerPoint presentations regarding their departmental activities, a DIPR report stated.  

Departments responsible for implementing International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) projects were also instructed to prepare and present their reports to the Finance Minister. 

Other departments were directed to carry out necessary preparations in their respective tasks, and projects carried out under CSR will also be reviewed. On security arrangements for the visit, the DC emphasized that it is a joint responsibility and called on local authorities to assist the security forces and police in ensuring safety. 

NGOs in Kiphire were informed to be prepared for discussions and interactions, while HoDs based in Pungro were instructed to be present, as the Finance Minister is also scheduled to visit the Pungro area.
