Kiphire, July 13 (MExN): Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC), Kiphire celebrated its 25th anniversary on July 12 at the college campus. An update from the DIPR stated that the word ‘Zisaji’ is believed to have been derived from the words ‘Zi’ which means Zungki, ‘Sa’ meaning Saramati, and ‘Ji’ from Jingkhu. Since its inception on July 10, 1997, ZPC has embarked on a journey of shaping the dreams and inspiration of thousands of young men and women into reality.
During the occasion, the message of Minister Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along was delivered by Lerimong Sangtam, state BJP Executive member. Minister Along in his speech stated that the college is rapidly progressing by leaps and bounds with the latest facilities such as the digital smart classroom, e-library, entrepreneurial skill development programme, integrated farming and incubation centre for Horticulture in collaboration with the horticulture department, IGNOU study centre for students who cannot pursue higher education in regular mode. He also stated that celebrating the 25th anniversary is not only a time to rejoice over the accomplishments so far, but to look back at the early formative years, the struggles, disappointment, and the sacrifices made by the founding members and teachers and a time to retrospect the past weaknesses or failures and to identify the areas that need our attention for healthier growth and progress of the college.
DC Kiphire, T Wati Aier in his exhortation said that in the life of a student one should put God first to excel and achieve. He urged every student to inculcate the culture of hard work to build the society and the nation and to bring changes to society. The programme was chaired by Bokali Shohe, Assistant Professor, Jubilee College Choir presented a special song, short speeches were delivered by the Founding member, Alumni students, Department of Higher Education, and former principal and the welcome address was delivered by Dr Purna Chandra Mishra, Principal in Charge of ZPC Kiphire.
