Kiruphema and Tsiepama to celebrate friendship feast

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): Two Angami villages- Kiruphema and Tsiepama from Kohima and Dimapur district will be celebrating forefather friendship together to relive their ties by having a “traditional friendship feast” at Kiruphema local ground (Peducha) at 10.30 am on February 16.
After a gap of 65 years, both the villages will be celebrating the feast again to revive the history for old and young.


Such friendship feast was last held since 1952 at Tsiepama and in the year 1954 at Kiruphema.


The traditional friendship feast will begin with a prayer from Reverends and Pastors from both the villages fallow by unveiling of souvenir by Rokoneicha Kuotsu, former Minister Nagaland.


Folk artistes from both the village youth will present a song while the programme will be chaired by Khrehie Makritsu, Convener Souvenir committee. Welcome speech will be delivered by Thepfüyiengu Vielie, Chairman KGC.


Rev.Yagwelie Shüya of Tsiepama and Thepfülhouca Kinyü of Kiruphema will exhort the traditional friendship feast.Vote of thanks will be proposed by Zhavozo Kuotsu.


The organizing committee also informed both the entire village citizen to attend the friendship feast in traditional attire.


Recreational activities like bamboo climbing, high jump, long jump, shot put and feet jump will also mark the occasion.
