Kiruphema Youth Org 50th anniversary celebration begins

A weeklong 50th anniversary celebration of Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) commenced today at Kiruphema Ground.
Gracing the colourful opening ceremony as the special guest, Nagaland’s Women Resource Development & Horticulture minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, stressed on the need to rectify the past misdeeds, to foster unity and to embrace a future filled with better understanding, love and peace.

Congratulating KYO for attaining 50 glorious years, she said “let us reflect on the rich tapestry of history that has woven together the threads of our community.”

The concept of Jubilee, as enshrined in the book of Leviticus, resonates deeply with the spirit of renewal and restoration, Kruse said, adding “as we stand at the threshold of a new era, let us ponder whether we truly embody the essence of Jubilee in our lives and in our community.”

She said that Kiruphema, once a humble village, has undergone a remarkable transformation in various fields over the past five decades.
It is a testament to the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our pioneers, whose vision and sacrifices have laid the foundation for our progress, the minister maintained.

We owe a debt of gratitude to these visionary souls who ignited the spark of change and inspired generations to follow, she said.
Kruse called upon the youth to equip with knowledge, skills and values to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

She also challenged them to strive to create a society where forgiveness reigns supreme and where every individual is valued.

Let us work towards a future where peace, unity, and love permeate every corner of our community, she said.

The minister was hopeful that the KYO Jubilee will serve as a channel of transformation towards building a strong and vibrant Kiruphema for generations to come.

Kiruphema General Council chairman Kevichiilie Dahou shared greetings while KYO president Kekhrievituo Dahou delivered presidential address.

The opening ceremony also witnessed Jubilee theme song “A Kekhrie Kiruphera,” and folk song by Kiruphema Cultural Troupe.
The programme was chaired by organizing committee convenor Sedeneikho Shosahie while Viletuo Vielie, pastor Kiruphema Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings.

Later, KYO wrestling secretary Nourhe Suohumvii administered oath to the participants of Naga wrestling event.

Meanwhile, Dzüvi-u Zhünyü, president, Western Angami 'D' Public Organisation and former president KYO will grace the closing ceremony on December 21.
