Zunheboto, January 20 (MExN): Kitami village, located in Pughoboto circle of Zunheboto district was awarded Pughoboto cleanest village award, for the year 2018. The award carries a certificate with cash award of Rs 5 lakh funded by Local Area Development Fund (LADF), Pughoboto, a DIPR release stated.
The award was given during a one-day seminar on waste management which was conducted at Kitami on January 19. A waste management project will be carried out in the village.
During the programmed, resource persons Kahuli and Victo dwelled on different types of waste and how to dispose wastes.
A practical lesson on how to convert biodegradable waste like kitchen garbage into useful products like manure was also demonstrated to the public,
Vitoshe from Kushe Humunity Foundation gave a brief introduction of the foundation and its activities. Viniho Achumi GB Kitami spoke on behalf of the Village.
The programme was chaired by EAC Pughoboto Nuhuta Tunyi while vote of thanks was delivered by CDPO Ghathashi Junito Jimo
