DIMAPUR, APRIL 3 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN led by N Kitovi Zhimomi today informed that a “mass reunion programme” was held at designated Khehoi camp on April 2.
“Under the leadership of its senior Naga Army officials, took decisive steps towards a Reunion. For the past 11 months, they had been divided due to interference from unwanted elements that disrupted their cohesion,” a press release from the MIP informed.
It further stated that the gathering featured “top brass officers from both the groups, symbolizing a crucial turning point in their efforts to overcome recent challenges and re-establish their collective mission.”
The official handshake between the Chief of Army, Major General Kiyehe Yepthomi and Brigadier Kiyeto Zhimomi of GSO-1 “not only aimed to mend relationships but also to strengthen their strategic direction moving forward, demonstrating their commitment to the Naga cause,” the MIP said.
It informed that more than 200 GPRN/NSCN Naga Army members came together with a message for all Nagas. “Too many lives have been lost in the hand of Naga brothers and Indian Army as well, while defending our Nation, today it is in our hands to steadfastly stand as one and do the immediate needful for our nation,” it said.
“They courageously gathered to be witnessesand a testament for all Naga political groups by shaking hands among brothers to march forward with grit and honour no matter how difficult the journey maybe for peace and harmony, which would send a powerful message across Nations and a strong step towards early Indo-Naga political solution,” it added.
