CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MARCH 21 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (U) led by Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi marked its 46th Republic Day celebration on March 21 at 5th Mile, Chümoukedima.
According to a press release issued by its MIP, the event was chaired by AG Secretary F. Pongba Konyak and recorded by Joint Secretary Renathung Lotha. The program began with an invocation by Chaplain Nochotole Yosa, followed by the flag-hoisting ceremony led by Maj (Retd) RM Lotha.
Kilo Kilonser Hukavi Yepthomi delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance and significance of the Republic Day celebration. In his presidential address, Maj (Retd) R.M. Lotha emphasized the Government of India’s responsibility in resolving the delayed peace process and called for Naga unity to achieve a peaceful solution to the Indo-Naga conflict.
A special song was performed by Lansobeni Tungoe, and Ato Kilonser N. Kitovi Zhimomi provided a strong message on the current political situation. Zhimomi affirmed that there would be only one political solution and that the Working Committee and Signatories would maintain the 'Agreed Position' without further negotiations.
The event also included the declaration of army ranks and an obituary report presented by Keeya Secretary Kuwoto Yesca. Secretary of PR&NGO’s, Pikato Achumi, delivered the vote of thanks, and the celebration concluded with a benediction prayer by Assistant Chaplain Apong. A feast followed the formal proceedings.
