Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The Kharao-Khaorui-Yairum Naga Students’ Association has affirmed to defend the two leaders of UNC and ANSAM over the arrest warrant issued by the Government of Manipur (GoM).
“Completely ignoring voice of the concerned people through series of democratic protest against the imposition of (2008 Act) ADC election 2010 (infamously known as election of hill district for valley people). This act has pushed the Nagas of the region to the point of no return compelling them to the extent of imposing economic blockade, which is nothing compared to what Ibobi Government has been discriminately imposing upon the hill people including the latest ADC election. And therefore the question arise; if the GoM stands for the people of the whole State, or only for the valley i.e. Meitei Community in particular,” stated the Association in a press note.
Supporting its stand, it stated that it is prepared for any eventuality that may arise in the process. Moreover, it has called upon every Naga, regardless of “artificial boundaries” to boldly come forward with courage to defend the leaders.
