KL Chishi declines offer to chair Development Authority of Nagaland

DIMAPUR, MARCH 25 (MExN): Veteran politician, KL Chishi has declined an offer from the government to become the Chairman of the Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN). Speaking to The Morung Express, the veteran politician and former Chief Minister, who contested in the recent polls on a BJP ticket informed that the Nagaland State Government had offered him the position of DAN Chairman, but that he has declined the offer. “I am more interested in the Indo-Naga political settlement and I want to work for it,” he said, explaining the reasons for his refusal. “I don’t want to be chairman of development authorities. So I’m declining the offer with gratitude,” he added. Chishi also stated that as a former Chief Minister, “I cannot stoop low,” adding that to take the position would be “a loss of my reputation.”
