KLB meeting held in Mon; MP donates vehicle

Mon, April 6 (MExN): A meeting of the Konyak Literature Board (KLB) was held at the private residence of S. Phangnon Konyak in Mon on April 6.

The meeting was chaired by KLB Chairman S Manlip Konyak, who thanked the MP for providing a Bolero vehicle to the Board. He stated that the KLB would continue its efforts to promote and preserve the Konyak language.

The MP extended the vehicle support under MP LAD 2025–26 through the Department of Education, Nagaland. In her address, she acknowledged the work of the KLB in promoting the linguistic and cultural identity of the Konyak community and encouraged the Board to continue its efforts.

She also stressed the role of the younger generation in sustaining the language and suggested initiatives, including the establishment of a vernacular academy, to promote the Konyak language among youth.

The programme concluded with a dedication prayer by Rev E Yeangphong Konyak, District Chaplain, Mon, followed by the ceremonial handing over of the vehicle key to the KLB Chairman.
