Kohima, October 14 (MExN): The Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church in D Block celebrated International Pastor Appreciation Day. Deacon Luidi Chawang, serving as the resource person for the event, encouraged the congregation to honor their pastors and priests for their dedication and commitment to preaching and teaching. He emphasized that pastors who serve selflessly and shepherd the congregation, are indeed worthy of appreciation.
Deacon Chawang reflected on the biblical passage from Jeremiah 3:15, noting that pastors are chosen by God to feed the church with knowledge and understanding. He highlighted the role of pastors as pillars of guidance, sharing wisdom, and offering unwavering faith that empowers the church community. Chawang remarked that pastors and priests touch lives daily, nurturing hearts and souls through their dedication to God’s work. Deacon Chawang also spoke about the pastoral responsibility of restoring broken relationships within the church and community, which serves as a living testament to the gospel.
To honor their pastor, the congregation presented gifts and prepared light refreshments.
