KLC launches awareness campaign on rights & entitlement

Kohima, July 13 (MExN): “Know Your Rights and Entitlement Awareness Campaign” was officially launched here at Kohima Law College launched on July 13 with Professor-in-Charge & President NVCO Kezhokhoto Savi.  

“This is launched in order to conduct several awareness campaigns on “Know Your Rights & Entitlement” to create more awareness in the society,” Kezhokhoto said while launching the programme.  

Several topics to be conducted in the awareness campaign are Consumer Rights, Food Safety & Standard Act 2006, Human Rights, Lokayukta, National Food Security Act 2013, Environmental, Street Vendors Act, Public Services Delivery System, a press release from Kezhokhoto Savi, Professor-in-Charge, BCI Practical & Training, KLC.  

Savi briefed on each topic while talking about the importance of appointing Lokayukta and illegal taxation & illegal collection of cash on the highways in Nagaland. Savi on behalf of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) refuted the statement where it was said that the Central Government was informed about it and it has asked the National Investigation Agency to investigate” which was published in a magazine called ‘THE WEEK’.  

The NVCO had at no point of time informed the National Investigation Agency in connection with the summoning of the former chief minister TR Zeliang or others by the NIA, the release relented while defending its stance. The NVCO had never met or talk to any member of National Investigation Agency.  

Students of the final year LL.B each presented on topics like food safety, food security, consumer protection rights etc to be conducted in several colleges.
