
DIMAPUR, MARCH 17 (MExN): The Foreign Secretary and 7 cadres of the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) joined the ‘mainstream’ in the presence of an MHA team, 27th Assam Rifles and Presidents of KU Unit Phomching and Myanmar at Longwa village in Mon on March 15.
This was informed in a press release from the Konyak Union (KU) which was issued on March 17. The KU said that the KLO Foreign Secretary, Pavel Koch communicated the decision on March 15, and in this regard, the KLO first approached Khampei Konyak, Chairman & Kilonser of the NSCN/GPRN-K (YA) Konyak region.
“With respect to this matter, the Kilonser called upon the President of the Myanmar KU Unit and handed over the KLO cadres to the Konyak Union. The President of the Konyak Union in collaboration with the President of the KU unit Myanmar took a serious note of the prevailing situation and rushed towards Longwa Village accompanied by the President of Phomching KU Unit and Rajip Sharma (Asst. Director IB) and his Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) team of Guwahati,” the press release informed.
The press release added that the President of Konyak Union and President of Myanmar KU Unit interacted with Pavel Koch and “expressed gratitude as they were not abashed by their decision to join the mainstream and moving towards peace and development.” It further added that the “Konyaks are always seeking for peace and tranquility in the land.”
It further stated that in the presence of the MHA team, the President of Konyak Union handed over Pavel Koch and 7 other cadres of KLO, who surrendered before the 27th Assam Rifles in Mon.
