KLSU concerned over ‘imbalance’ in NPSC selection

Kohima, October 1 (MExN): The Kohima Lotha Student's Union has expressed great concern on the imbalance in the current NPSC selection system.

“The results of NPSC 2015 brought to light an overwhelming manipulation and malpractice by NPSC members,” the KLSU stated citing an RTI wherein it was revealed that out of the 6 candidates who scored 400 marks and above in mains examination, five secured Class-1 positions after the viva. Again out of the 9 candidates who scored 390-399 marks in mains examination, six secured Class-1 positions after the viva. The Union alleging practice of favouritism by NPSC members pointed out that the left out candidates in both instances were Lothas and stated that it took a serious note of the same.

While appealing for free, fair and transparent conduct of selection, the Union also expressed strong support to its apex body – the Lotha Student's Union – on the five-point demand placed before the State Governor and sought intervention and necessary action at the earliest.
