Kohima, June 1 (DIPR): The Kohima Longjang Union (KLU) felicitated Toshi T. Imti son of T. Temsu Imti, with the KLST Silver Jubilee Memorial HSLC Topper Award at a simple ceremony at the Chang Baptist Church, Kohima on May 29. Toshi T. Imti who secured the 33rd position in the HSLC Examination 2011 was presented the award, which carries a cash award of rupees 10,000 and a citation by Commissioner & Secretary, Vety. & AH, Thangi Mannen.
Accepting the award, Toshi T. Imti attributed his success to God, hard work and the support of his parents. He made especial mention of his mother who had looked after him and his siblings and guided and encouraged them in their studies. He challenged students of Longjang descendants to work hard with faith in God saying that with hard work and God’s blessing we can achieve great thing.
Exhorting the gathering of parents and students at the function, Associate Professor of Kohima Science College, Dr. Anungla Aier said that it is a proud moment for the descendants of Longjang Village that one of their members could achieve this distinction of passing out from school with such flying colours. She however cautioned everyone concerned that HSLC Examination was not the ultimate test in one’s life but it is the beginning of a series of bridges that one has to cross in life’ journey. She therefore called on the topper and other students not to lose focus and determination and to continue in with endurance and hard work to become somebody in this competitive world.
