Kohima, June 4 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning Peducha check gate have detained two stolen Mahindra Pick-Up trucks. One of the trucks bearing registration number NL03A-2503, chassis number MA1ZN2GHKF1A11049, and engine number GHE1M73357 is confirmed to be stolen vide Assam Namtola Police Station Case No. 0017/2015, informed a press release from SDPO/PRO (South), Kohima Police.
Meanwhile, the other truck with registration number NL03A-2313, chassis number MA1ZN2GHK01K73487, and engine number GHC1K45992 was stolen from Assam, Sibsagar and is wanted in connection with Sivasagar P.S case No. 0668/2014, the release added. Both the vehicles were plying with fictitious registration certificate (smart card) when seized by the police.
In a similar case, Kohima Police personnel manning the inter-state Khuzama check gate have detained one Mahindra Pick-Up bearing registration number AS01FC-9254, chassis number MA1ZN2GHKC1K73487, engine number GHC1K45992 after ascertaining from the NCRB database that the registration number is allotted to a truck by DTO Kamrup, Assam. In this connection, two persons identified as Salam Ali of Barpeta, Assam and Ksh. Dhiren Singh of Imphal East, Manipur have been arrested and a regular case vide Khuzama P.S Case No. 0024/2016 U/S 379/471/474 IPC registered against them.
