Kohima, August 1 (MExN): Three wards of Naga Bazar (ward 4), Daklane (ward 7) and New Market (ward-8), Kohima have written to the Director, Urban Development Department, Kohima requesting for construction of a common septage treatment plant for the three wards.
The wards mentioned that “way back in 2016-2017, it was proposed that a large septage treatment plant be constructed at the confluence of the three wards by gathering all the septic discharges and wastages. The three wards had welcomed the proposal and submitted letters of acceptance to the authority concern.
“Since then, we have been eagerly looking forward to implementation of the plant in view of the fact that the plant will go a long way in promoting sanitation in the entire region which is now infested with random discharge of septic tanks into the drains, and as a result the people are facing great difficulties due to lack of regular septic services,” the joint request letter stated.
They also expressed hope that the project would be taken up without further delay and therefore, earnestly request the authority concerned to render the best of services.
The letter was appended by Thezielhoulie Sorhie, Chairman, Naga Bazar Panchayat, Kohima; Thepfusavi Suohu, Secretary, Naga Bazar Panchayat, Kohima; Mhiesizokho Zinyü, Chairman, Daklane Panchayat, Kohima; Khuvishe Atomu Zhimomi, Secretary, Daklane Panchayat, Kohima; Ruokuobeizo Nyusu, Chairman, New Market Area Panchayat, Kohima; Kezhaselhou Yalietsu, Secretary, New Market Area Panchayat, Kohima.
