KMC administrator notifies

Kohima, March 26 (DIPR): Kohima Municipal Council, Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose has notified that wastes materials including garbage are being thrown in areas which are not designated collection points in the ward roads and highways, causing nuisance and pollution and may lead to diseases. Further there are also cases where inspite of signboards being put in place restricting throwing of wastes by Wards and Colonies and the KMC, the same is not adhered to. KMC has notified that it would depute its inspectors from time to time to check such throwing of wastes and defaulters will be penalized up to a maximum of Rs. 2000/- as per the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001. The Ward Councils and Ward Sanitation Committees would also be held responsible if such random throwing of wastes is found in their respective jurisdictions.
