KMC approves rates for fowls in Kohima

Kohima, May 22 (MExN): In partial modification of an earlier order, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) in its recent meeting with Fowls Traders Union and wholesalers of chicken and duck within its jurisdiction has approved new rates for sale of fowls. (See Box)

Ina an, KMC Administrator, T Lanusenla Longumer asked all shopkeepers to display the approved rate chart near each weighing balance at all locations. Use of digital weighing machine and wearing of apron is mandatory. Hygienic conditions are also to be maintained. All shopkeepers have been directed to maintain social distancing and entertain only one customer at a time.

Customers have also been asked to wear masks and wash their hands before and after buying goods.

No item shall be sold beyond the fixed rate, according to KMC. Also stating that all fowls and poultry shops located at main town are to be shifted to colonies, the KMC warned that defaulting of any of the above directives shall be dealt with sternly.

Layer - Rs 280/kg
Kroiler - Rs 280/Kg
Fillister - Rs 250/kg
Local Chicken - Rs. 530/kg
Pani Haas - Rs 480/Piece
China Haas (Male) - Rs 1000/ Piece
China Haas (Female) - Rs 680/Piece
Raja Haas - Rs 2600/Pair
Pigeon - Rs 350/Pair
