Kohima, June 12 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has approved new rates for chicken and ducks within KMC jurisdiction.
The rates were agreed upon following a meeting with the Fowls Traders Union and wholesalers. The KMC informed all the shopkeepers to display the approved rate chart in their premises.
Use of digital weighing machine and wearing of Apron is mandatory, it stated adding that hygienic conditions be maintained. All the shopkeepers have been directed to maintain social distancing and entertain only one customer at a time. Customers have also been advised to wear masks and wash their hands before and after buying goods.
No items shall be sold beyond the fixed rate. The KMC also ordered a stop to import till new rate is approved.
Defaulter if any, shall be dealt with sternly, stated the order from KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase.
