KMC condemns office burglary

KOHIMA, JUNE 4 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has strongly condemned the recent burglary at its office premises, which occurred on the intervening night of June 2, terming it a “brazen act of lawlessness.”

In a statement issued by its Media Cell, the KMC said it has filed a First Information Report (FIR) and is extending full cooperation to the investigating authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice at the earliest.

The Council has also constituted an Internal Assessment Committee to review office procedures, identify any structural lapses or vulnerabilities, and recommend measures to strengthen internal security.

Assuring the public that transparency, accountability and security remain its top priorities, the KMC reaffirmed its commitment to continue serving with integrity and not allow criminal activities to undermine the institution’s functioning.

The Council also appealed to members of the public who may have any information related to the incident to come forward and assist the police in the ongoing investigation.
