In pursuance to the Central Ministry guidelines, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) today conducted Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Old NST, Kohima and Indoor Stadium.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to create awareness among citizens about various welfare schemes.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a vibrant caravan of hope, is bringing the promise of empowerment and a brighter future to the doorsteps of all Indians.
Addressing the Yatra at Old NST, KMC Administrator T Lanusenla Longkumer said this Yatra was started in December across the country. She said that the Yatra also aim to make India as developed country by 2047. She also administered Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra pledge.
The gathering pledged to make India developed and self-reliant nation by 2047. “We pledge to remove any trace of colonial mindset. We pledge to celebrate our heritage. We pledge to strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country. We pledge to perform the duties of a citizen,” the pledged stated.
Roko, a beneficiary of PMAY (U), thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of Nagaland for extending housing scheme. He also appealed the state government to bring more schemes to help the urban poor.
A beneficiary of Swachh Bharat mission thanked Government of India for constructing toilet and extending sanitation facilities. A beneficiary of PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi told the gathering that many street vendors in Kohima are availing loan upto Rs. 50,000, adding that the scheme boost the business activities of many women in the state capital.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme in Kohima was marked by on- spot registration and services of Ayushman Bharat, Aadhar Mobile No and Bio-metric update, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and Pradhan Matri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
The postal departmental open stall for insurance schemes and other benefit schemes. The programme also featured medical camp. Further, the programme was also marked by recorded message of Prime Minister, screening of movie Meri Kahani Meri Zubani, PMS Vanidhi IEC Video.
