
Kohima, June 23 (MExN): In regard to the statement issued by All Kohima Municipal Ward Council (AKMWC), the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has clarified that “the theft was a genuine incident and not stage-managed, as insinuated.” It clarified that while KMC appreciates the concerns raised, the council had “no prior knowledge or involvement in the incident.”” We welcome thorough investigations and transparency,” KMC media cell stated in a press note.
Meanwhile, KMC appreciated Kohima Police for their prompt and effective action in apprehending the individual involved in the recent theft. The swift investigation and successful operation showcased exceptional professionalism, coordination, and commitment to justice, it noted.
“This remarkable effort not only safeguards the public but also strengthens the community's trust in the integrity and capability of our law enforcement agencies,” and commend the dedication and hard work of the officers involved, particularly SP Teisovise Metha, IPS; Addl SP K Soriso, NPS, SIT Team Leader; and All rank and file of the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
“Their actions set a strong example of accountability and service to the public,” it stated.
“The swift action by the Kohima Police in apprehending the culprit demonstrates their commitment to justice. We hope that future interactions will be guided by facts and collaborative spirit,” the council added.
It reiterated that KMC “applauds the Kohima Police for their outstanding work and reaffirms its commitment to collaborative efforts for the safety and well-being of our community.”
