KMC to resume  dog impoundment 

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): Dog impoundment under the jurisdiction of Kohima municipality, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume from September 20. Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer in a release issued on Friday informed that any dog found loitering in the streets without a leash and its owner under Kohima municipality shall be impounded and taken to the KMC Dog Shelter at Chaü Parking located on the way to Kohima Science College, Jotsoma. The owners will be allowed to claim their respective dog/s within five days on payment of penalty in addition to feeding charges of Rs 200 per day from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on any working day, it stated.
