KMC undertakes cleanliness drive

The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) today undertook a cleanliness drive in the vicinity of Naga Hospital Kohima as part of the culmination programme of Swachhata Hi Seva.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso appreciated the active participation of the youth for this cleanliness drive. “To contribute something for the society, it has to come from the individual,” he said.

Stating that the mission of Swachhata Hi Seva is to make Garbage Free India, he said “we also want to make Garbage free Nagaland.” He called upon the people to take a collective responsibility, adding “Let everyday be a cleanliness day for us.”

KMC undertook this cleanliness dive in collaboration with Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and Don Bosco College Kohima. KMC Administrator T Lanusenla Longkumer thanked each and every individual for joining the cleanliness drive.

The cleanliness drive was followed by plogging by National Service Scheme (NSS) of Don Bosco College Kohima at three locations; Sokhriezie market & lake, road from PR Hill Junction- Bethel Hospital- NSF Martyrs Park and road from NHAK junction- New Market- Daklane, Naga Bazaar- Keziekie- Bayavü Junctions.
