KMK condemns ‘sex racket’ in Kohima

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The Kewhimiapfü Mechü Krotho (KMK) has expressed deep anguish over the recent busting of a sex racket in Kohima by the police on September 6, terming it “shocking and disturbing.”

In a statement, the organisation said the existence of such an “abhorrent underworld,” once considered alien to local culture, in the heart of the state capital poses a grave threat to society if not dealt with firmly.

Alarmed by what it described as the rise of antisocial elements, KMK urged law enforcement authorities to award the “most severe punishments” to the perpetrators in order to safeguard children and prevent others from falling victim to such rackets.

At the same time, the organisation lauded the Police Department for its persistent efforts against criminal activities and appealed for public support and collective responsibility to restore the health of society.
