CHÜMOUKEDIMA, JULY 13 (MExN): The Sangtam Students' Union Chümoukedima organised a one-day career guidance programme on July 12 under the theme “Anchored in Purpose, Driven by Dreams” at Sangtam Baptist Lithro, Chümoukedima.
The programme featured entrepreneur Longtili C. Sangtam and Assistant Professor at Yingli College, Longleng, Konchem Thsingvi as resource persons.
Speaking at the event, Longtili C. Sangtam urged students to identify their strengths and understand themselves before choosing a career path. While inspiration is important, true growth comes from self-awareness, he said. Focusing on entrepreneurship, Sangtam shared his personal journey and offered mentorship to interested students, stressing the importance of starting small, being consistent, and embracing challenges.
Assistant Professor Konchem Thsingvi highlighted the importance of academic planning. She encouraged students to adopt effective study methods, understand the scope of various subjects, and prepare for exams and competitive tests. She emphasised the need for self-discovery and learning to overcome life’s challenges.
Union President Tsapili said the programme made a positive impact, with students leaving the session feeling more confident and motivated about their career choices. The event aimed to help participants align their interests with possible career paths and foster purposeful career planning by drawing insights from both business and academic perspectives, the organisers added.
