KNP+ toy making training concludes

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): Five-day training on toy-making was conducted for KNP+ at the Conference Hall, District Industries Centre -Kohima from October 3 to 7.  

The training was conducted under the personal initiation & support of I. Bendangliba, Director of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland and organized by Care Support Centre (CSC) under Vihaan Project.  

The training was imparted by Lady Bug Toy Production Unit. Altogether, 15 participants attended the programme as trainees. The inaugural programme was chaired by B. Asangla, Functional Manager, DIC-Kohima. A. Temjen Jamir, General Manager- DIC: Kohima, in his inaugural address welcomed all the participants and encouraged the group to make the most out of the 5 days.  

The Director of Industries & Commerce, I Bendangliba, in his speech shared the objective of the training. Being the brains behind the programme, he assured the group of the little help he could render during the course. Representatives from NSACS also attended the inaugural session with Tarepnokcha Jamir, Dy. Dir.-Mainstreaming NSACs updated the departmental activities carried out. The Managing Director, Lady Bug, Nancy highlighted the production unit along with the features and working system. Vote of thanks was delivered by Rukuomenuo, Project Co-ordinator- CSC Kohima.

Hands-on training was given, with Lady Bug Toy Production Unit providing all necessary raw materials, technical support and related resources.

The training included 5 trainers. The training included knowledge on machinery and equipment required for the trade giving all necessary instructions for use and minor repairs. Toy-inverse: in which the trainees were made to open up dolls and then sew/stitch it back together. Stuffing and finishing was the next highlight of the training. Pattern-making/Paper-cutting for 3 items were intensely taught.  

The 5-day training concluded with a brief interaction session attended by the General Manager, DIC-Kohima and his staff.  

The trainers expressed satisfaction on the progress and performance of the participants. Lounyüle was awarded as the best trainee for her dedication throughout the course.
