Kohima CHILDLINE Advisory Board meet held

Kohima, June 23 (DIPR): The Kohima District CHILDLINE Advisory Board Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) at the DC’s Conference Hall on June 23.  

Coordinator CHILDLINE Kohima Dr, Vezokho Kapu gave a power point presentation where he highlighted that CHILDLINE kohima is rendering services of rescuing missing children, abused children, run away children, child labour, street children, differently abled and all kinds of children in need of care and protection. He also informed about Dial in 1098 Emergency phone outreach Service for children when it is needed for help.  

The members also discussed agenda including the need for CHILDLINE rescue van for cases intervention and special programme and the orientation of the members of District Task force committee on Child Labour, organising awareness on child training for Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and nurses on child rights issues, coordination with DCPU for organizing one day awareness cum training for various community leaders in case intervention special programme etc. and incorporation of CHILDLINE logo and message in the traffic points and police barricades.  

Dr. Kapu also highlighted the different types of category from the 224 Cases intervened by CHILDLINE Kohima including medical case, shelter, restoration abuse, children in conflict with law, sponsorship, parents asking help for emotional support and guidance.  

Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Soundararajan asked the Kohima CHILDLINE to revise their data from time to time in order to present accurate data to the people in the District.
