The Kohima College Kohima (KCK) today accorded farewell to Associate Professor Zetso Sakhrie, vice principal of Kohima College who retired recently on superannuation.
A grand farewell programme was organized by Kohima College Teachers Association at the college premises.
Zetso, an English Associate Professor said she joined the college in 1981 and in 35 years of service to the college she served as vice principal for five years. She thanked all the teachers, non-teaching staff, past and present students for very supportive and cooperative ever since she joined the college. She wishes the college to progress higher and higher.
She also appreciated Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu who was instrumental for government to take over the college. She acknowledged state government for taking over Kohima College since 2006 and given many facilities to the college.
KCK principal, Dr. Watijunshi lauded Zetso’s dedication, sincerity and contribution to the college. He wishes her a long healthy and retiring prosperous life.
On behalf of Kohima college teachers association, Mhalezolie Kire, President of KCTA extended gratitude to retiring Vice Principal, Zetso Sakhrie for rendering tireless service to the college. He also said “Her contribution to the upliftment of the College is deserved to be appreciated in the highest regard. In recognition to her dedicated service in teaching College awarded her with “the Best Teacher Award 2010.”
Short speeches were delivered by Yanger, Ministerial Staff and General Secretary of Kohima College Students Union on behalf of the students.
The programme was chaired by Ameu Kire, Associate Professor, and invocation prayer by Lily, Asst. Professor, while a special song was presented by Evangelical Union, KCK and thanksgiving prayer by Dr. B. Khing, Asso. Professor.
