KOHIMA, JULY 10 (MExN): The new office of Alumni Association of Kohima College was inaugurated on July 8.
Inaugurating the same, Nagaland Commissioner, Rovilato Mor expressed hope that newly launched office will be utilised for the benefit of the college and its alumni and help in fostering a good relationship among the stakeholders of the college.
As an alumnus, he also noted how the college had produced numerous graduates including bureaucrats, politicians, business persons, social workers since Kohima College was the only college offering Arts stream in the capital for over a decade and a half ever since its inception in 1967.
Mor also lauded the college for continuing to have a large enrolment despite many other colleges coming up in recent years and asserted that it testifies the deliverance of quality education by the college.
He also urged the students to uphold the prestige and honour of the college by fulfilling their duties and roles, and encouraged them to take advantage of the improved infrastructure, facilities, and the quality education imparted by the college.
He further exhorted the alumni members to continue working hand-in-hand with the college and extended his best wishes to the college for the forthcoming NAAC assessment.
KCK Principal Dr Ralimongla, meanwhile, said that the long pending need for space to set up an Alumni Association office for its proper functioning has been finally been realised. She also elaborated in the important role of the Alumni Association in the growth and development of the college especially from NAAC perspective.
She further lauded the commendable contributions of the association not only during the past two NAAC assessments but even in other important events.
The principal also expressed hope that the connected alumni network would to take up the challenge of the upcoming third cycle of NAAC assessment.
Lotsielü Vese, Asst General Secretary, Kohima College Students’ Council also extended the council’s gratitude to the Alumni Association for tirelessly working for the college and urged all past pupils of the college to join the association.
The programme culminated with a tour of the college’s Tribal Museum & the Alumni Office.
