Kohima College celebrated its 57th foundation day with Vikietuo Belho, GB of Mission Compound, as the special guest.
Kohima, August 9 (MExN): Kohima College celebrated its 57th foundation day with Vikietuo Belho, GB of Mission Compound, as the special guest.
Dr Vitsosie Vüprü, Principal, Kohima College, delivered the welcome address. He reflected on the college’s journey of growth and transformation, shaped by the collective efforts of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. He emphasised the importance of honoring the past while striving to build a brighter future that is even brighter.
Special presentation was made by the faculty and students of the Commerce Department. The event continued with a expression of gratitude by Ako Savi, Associate Professor, Department of Tenyidie. “On this auspicious day, we remember all the pioneers and their sacrifices made for the college, and we extend our gratitude to those who have generously contributed to the betterment of Kohima College,” she said.
Neivolieü (Atsü-ü), granddaughter of the late Vilalhoulie Belho, a founding member of Kohima College, shared a moving narrative about the passion and conviction of the college’s founding fathers. “It is truly an honor to witness the achievements of the college. I urge the students to root their imagination in concrete reality and to strive to reach their dreams,” she encouraged. To recognise and celebrate the achievements of its students, Kohima College instituted several awards. The awards were presented by Dr Ketoukhrieü, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of IQAC. The awards included:
• Scholars Badge: Presented to all subject toppers from the 2nd, 4th, and 6th semester examinations.
• The winner of the Scholars Badge 2024 was Nguzokhotuo Mepfhou, a 6th Semester student from the Department of Political Science. The award included a certificate of commendation and a cash prize of Rs 5,000, sponsored by IQAC, Kohima College.
• Dr Satuo Sekhose Star Pupil Award 2024: This prestigious award was presented to Kikhosou Rume, 6th semester student, Department of Political Science. The award accompanied a certificate of commendation and a cash prize of Rs 30,000, sponsored by the family of the late Dr Satuo Sekhose, a founding member of Kohima College.

• Noyingi Z. Shitiri, 6th semester, Economics Department, sponsored by the Economics Department, Kohima College.
• Nguzokhotuo Mepfhou, 6th semester, Political Science Department, sponsored by the Political Science Department, Kohima College.
