Nagaland Chief Minister Rio with students of Kohima College in Kohima on March 2.
Kohima, March 2 (MExN): Eighteen students from the Department of Political Science, Kohima College, accompanied by three faculty members, attended the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly as part of an experiential learning initiative.
During the visit, the students observed the Governor’s address to the House and obituary references to former Members of the Legislative Assembly, gaining firsthand exposure to legislative proceedings.
The visit was organised to provide students with a practical understanding of parliamentary procedures, legislative functioning and democratic governance. Faculty members said such experiential exposure helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world political institutions, while fostering civic awareness and an appreciation of democratic values among students.
Following the session, the students also had the opportunity to briefly interact with and take a group photograph with Dr Neiphiu Rio, making the visit both educational and memorable for the participants.
