Kohima, November 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant IAS, has issued a directive to mobile, telecom, internet, and cable TV service providers, urging them to address the random installation of connections in and around Kohima Municipality.
The DC's notice highlights that these installations are not only causing defacement of property but also obstructing public pathways, posing potential dangers to the public. In a bid to ensure public safety, the notice mandates that all service providers remove or streamline any loose hanging or improperly installed wires, ensuring that connections are both aesthetically pleasing and safe.
The deadline for compliance is set for November 16, 2024. The DC has warned that service providers failing to adhere to the directive will face penalties under the appropriate sections of the law.
