Kohima: DCPU celebrate children’s day at Child Care Institutions

Kohima, November 10 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of Kohima organised Children’s Day celebration for Child Care Institutions in Kohima, at Highland Park on November 8 last with Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C as special guest.

Speaking at the function, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) told the students to keep their heads high with confidence while he cited the life story of former president of India APJ Kalam who from a humble beginning raised to hold the highest office in the country and also Abraham Lincoln, former president of America.

He told the children to get inspiration with confidence, hardwork and dedication while also to dream big to excel.

Further, he also reminded the students that there is no short cut to success and no substitute for hard work while motivated that they are talented encouraging them that they are second to none.

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Sekho Dawhuo, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Kohima. He said the day was preponed as children are facing examinations on November 14.

The programme was chaired by Vepotolu Ringa, PO (IC) and prayer was offered by Vili Kesiyie, House Mother of Observation Home Kohima and on the occasion, Avito presented a solo, children and staff of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home, Kevi Children's Home and Bright Morning Star Children Home presented special songs.
